We’re currently investigating an issue that causes the plugin to crash after certain amount of merged symbols. You can follow the track on this GitHub issue.

May I ask you to post your case in it, and send us a copy of that Sketch file (with just the symbols that are causing the issue, you can remove everything else if you want) to run some further investigation?
